The elegant Gothic chalice and paten made in 925 sterling silver, was commissioned under special request by The Vatican as a present to His Holiness, John Paul II to commemorate his 50th anniversary in the priesthood. The exquisite deep relief work, depicting the Four Evangelists imbedded into node chapels, Christ and the Twelve Apostles on the cup and deeply sculptured "Flowers of Passion" motif on the base.
