This round St. Rita Sterling Silver Medal, 0.8" x 0.7", is hand polished and engraved by New England Silversmiths and depicts the saint in prayer before a crucifix.  St. Rita was an Italian mother and widow who became an Augustinian nun.  After praying to be more closely united to Christ by sharing more deeply in his suffering, St. Rita was granted a deep thorn wound, from His crown of thorns, which appeared on her forehead.  This wound caused her great pain until the end of her life.  St. Rita is the patron saint of those who suffer from loneliness, sterility, abuse, marriage difficulties, bodily ills, sicknesses and wounds.  She is also the patron saint of widows and parenthood.  Available in 14 Karat Gold for an additional cost - please call for price and specify 14 Karat Gold in Order Comments.
