This beautiful Italian statue of St. Edith Stein depicts the saint holding a cross and wearing the habit of the Discalced Carmelites, with the Star of David on her chest.  This amazingly life-like, full color figure is available in different size options in fiberglass or in hand-carved linden wood, hand-painted with the greatest of detail by expert artisans in Italy.  St. Edith Stein was a German Jewish philosopher who converted to Catholicism and became a Discalced Carmelite sister.  During the Nazi occupation of Europe during World War II, she, like other Jewish people, was forced to wear the Star of David.  Edith Stein died in a gas chamber at Auschwitz concentration camp in Poland on August 9, 1942 and is canonized as a martyr and saint of the Catholic Church.  Please contact us at 1-800-626-3545 for size options and pricing.
