Saint Isidore lived from circa 1070 to May 15, 1130 and worked faithfully on the estate of a wealthy landowner at Torrelaguna on the outskirts of Madrid, Spain. He was a holy man who married a young woman who also became a saint, Maria de la Cabeza. Their only child, a son, died in infancy. Both were devoted to God and lived lives of Christian charity and faith, caring for the poor and providing food to those in need. St. Isidore also had a great concern for the proper treatment of animals.
